I am a product of my parents; my father was moderate politically and a captain in the US Army and my mother was a progressive that worked for two Members of Congress and the EPA before she retired in 2003. I was raised working campaigns in Southeast Pennsylvania doing literature drops and door to door, making phone calls, and working fundraisers since I could walk and talk through my mid twenties. I was also a part time Congressional Aide while in college.
My wife, children, and I moved to Central Florida fifteen years ago. Since then, politics has gotten exceedingly ugly and the system is broken. I am running to make sure that all are treated equally and to reinstitute fairness in the system. My opponent is too vested in the politics of hate and separation. I believe that common ground can be found on most issues and common sense can and will prevail.
I will be a congressman that will worry about kitchen table issues such as putting food on the table and making sure that Social Security remains intact and work to guarantee that no one has to go bankrupt to receive medical care. Constituent services will be easy to navigate for all in the District with someone answering the phones in the District and in Washington as well as an easy to access website for help and information. I will hold Town Hall meetings throughout the District so I can hear directly from you, and I will be a watchdog in Washington to make sure that your tax dollars are spent wisely.
